One of the most powerful applications of the Alchemy Station is the ability to convert metals and gems from one type to another. These conversion chains let you transmute abundant resources into rare ones, ensuring you always have access to the materials you need.

Conversion Chains

The metal conversion system works in tiers. You can convert lower-tier materials up to higher tiers, though each step requires additional reagents.

Copper to Iron

Convert copper ingots into iron ingots using the Alchemy Station.

Tips

Metal conversions make iron farms incredibly valuable -- with enough iron, you can eventually produce any material.
The conversion ratios mean you will need significant quantities of the input material to get meaningful amounts of the output.
Plan your conversion chains ahead of time to avoid wasting materials on conversions you do not need.
This system means you are never truly stuck -- even if you cannot find diamonds through mining, you can convert your way up.
Combine with efficient mining (using the Dwarven Pickaxe with Scalding Smelt Rune) for maximum resource generation.
