Tempest Rune

A melee weapon rune that strikes enemies with lightning on each hit.

The Tempest Rune channels the fury of a thunderstorm into your weapon. When applied to a melee weapon, every strike calls down a bolt of lightning on your target, dealing massive bonus damage and creating a spectacular visual effect.

Effect

Each melee hit with a Tempest-runed weapon triggers a lightning strike on the target. The lightning deals significant bonus damage and can chain to nearby enemies standing in water, making it devastating in rainy conditions or near bodies of water.

Tips

Apply to the Dwarven Axe for a lightning-powered lumberjack build.
Lightning damage ignores armor, making this rune effective against heavily protected mobs.
Fight near water or during rain for bonus chain lightning damage.
