Location

  • Found in Jungle biomes (Jungle, Sparse Jungle, Bamboo Jungle).

Behavior

  • Hostile -- Attacks players on sight within 16 blocks.
  • Poison Attack -- Each bite inflicts 5 seconds of Poison, dealing damage over time on top of the initial 4 damage hit.
  • Short Attack Range -- The snake must be within 1.5 blocks to strike, so maintaining distance is an effective counter.
  • Relatively fast at 0.3 speed, so they can close gaps quickly in the dense jungle underbrush.

Strategy

  • Keep your distance -- ranged weapons are ideal since the snake has only 1.5 blocks of attack range.
  • Carry Milk Buckets or antidote brews to clear the Poison effect.
  • Watch the ground carefully in jungles -- snakes blend in with the foliage.
